Family, friends, City officials and staff all gathered at 26 W. Main Street, on Friday, June 3 for a ribbon cutting ceremony and grand opening of downtown Frostburg’s newest storefront, Funky Repurps and More!  Filled with re-purposed furniture and funky odds and ends, Diana Iman, owner of Funky Repurps, expressed that this storefront is the result of the collaboration between her, her sons Robert and Matthew, and friend Stephanie Durst; Diana says about the store,

“Since returning back to Frostburg, I have always wanted to have a store on Main Street and have always enjoyed finding and redoing pieces of furniture, thinking outside the box. This is a passion my youngest son Matthew shares as well, pulling together amazing items, old and new, and blending to make a room work. Stephanie Durst is very creative with her found items as well as adding a great funky taste to my more shabby chic. My oldest son Robert has been a lot of the muscle behind the scenes and slowly adding his finds and funky revamps.
Part gallery and part home-goods boutique, Funky Repurps and More will specialize in one of a kind art pieces, antiques, and ‘re-purposed’ items for your home and garden, featuring furniture, lighting and decor. The idea is to up-cycle and reuse vintage items to give them a new life or a new “purpose”. Shelving from old suitcases, antique china, bird feeders, and benches made out of old dressers are just some of their unconventional and unexpected designs that you may find in the shop. The goods will vary from week to week and season to season. If something catches your eye, don’t delay, because Funky Repurps only carries one of a kind, handmade items.”

During the Grand Opening, Shift, Giueseppe’s Italian Restaurant, and Dante’s Bar provided a generous spread of appetizers for guests, making this a true downtown Frostburg community welcome!

Be sure to stop by Funky Repurps during the Second Saturday Sidewalk Sales June 11, July 9, and August 13 to receive 20-50% off all items on the sidewalk!
