Western Maryland welcomes non-profits, community leaders, and all volunteer-supported groups to an information sharing meeting with the Governor’s Office on Service and Volunteerism. Information about grant funding, free resources for volunteer recognition, and expansion of volunteer programs with the help of AmeriCorps will be provided.

The Governor’s Office on Service and Volunteerism helps communities celebrate the contributions of volunteers with service awards, proclamations, volunteer certificates, and state-wide events. All organizations that benefit from volunteer time and effort are encouraged to attend.  Please come and welcome Mr. Jeff Griffin, the Executive Director of the GOSV and members of his staff.

 

The Monday, August 8, 12 noon session will be held in Garrett College’s Continuing Education Room 205. Lunch is provided. The event is hosted by the Garrett County Health Department and Garrett College. Reservations are appreciated, but not required, and can be made by calling 301-334-7730 or301-895-3111.

 

The Tuesday, August 9, 10:00 a.m. session will be held at City Place, located at Water and Mechanic Streets, Frostburg. Light refreshments provided and the session is hosted by Frostburg State University.
