Event Details

This class will focus on the main species of invasive plants that grow in the Appalachian region, including Garlic Mustard, Japanese Knotweed, Kudzu, Japanese Stiltgrass, Ailanthus (Tree of Heaven), and more. Class will include identification tips and growing conditions of a variety of invasive plants, discussion of the difference between invasive and weedy plants, environmental impacts and control of invasive plants, a close up look at leaves and other plant parts, and recipes to share. Fee is $30 and includes a handout, herbal tea and a wild weeds pesto to sample.
