Frostburg Spring Arts Walk 2021

FrostburgFirst is welcoming the beautiful weather with the annual Spring Arts Walk on Saturday, April 24, 2021 from 1 PM – 7 PM throughout downtown Frostburg. Artists and creators of all mediums will show off their talents and local small businesses are ready to celebrate the arts with discounts and specials. Organized by FrostburgFirst – a Maryland Main Street Community Inc., the Arts Walk is a free self-guided walking arts tour through the Frostburg Arts & Entertainment District. Artists, performers, and craft vendors partner with downtown businesses to display and sell their works during a city-wide celebration of the arts.

This year’s event welcomes over 30 local artists, musicians, performers, and craft vendors featuring handmade jewelry, handcrafted soaps, textile decorations, watercolor art, canvas paintings, photography, hand-crafted sewing, stained glass and so much more! Downtown businesses will pair up with artists to offer display space and are providing exciting discounts and Arts Walk themed specials to attendees. Don’t miss live musical and dance performances in the St. Michael’s Courtyard throughout the event, and be sure to stop by the Hotel Gunter (11 W. Main) for an artist mini-market. The Frostburg Elks (126 E. Main) have embraced the Arts Walk and will feature live performances, artist demonstrations, food and craft vendors, and games with JTF Family Sports Entertainment. Take advantage of the free parking lot on 1st Street and take a peek at the sculptures installed during our Fall Arts Walk before you stroll through beautiful downtown Frostburg to enjoy music, art, food, and good company.

FrostburgFirst is excited to announce that photographer and filmmaker Michael O. Snyder will preview the Mountain Traditions Project and a future installation of public art throughout downtown Frostburg and Allegany County this summer. FrostburgFirst has partnered with the City of Frostburg to provide outdoor display space for two high-art photographs highlighting the diverse tapestry of Appalachian traditions. For more information on Michael O. Snyder, please visit www.michaelosnyder.com.

Make your mark downtown in a temporary public art project with FrostburgFirst’s Sidewalk Chalk Mural Contest! Artists and community members who are interested can stop by the Marlee & Elijah Pop-Up Gallery at 13 E. Main during the event. We’ll provide you with the chalk and the sidewalk to bring your art to life! Children and families are welcome. Participants will be entered into a contest on FrostburgFirst social media, with a grand prize of $50 in Burg Bucks that can be used at downtown Frostburg businesses. Be sure to follow @FrostburgFirst on Facebook and Instagram for more details.

Mark your calendar and spend your day in Downtown Frostburg on April 24th, from 1:00 PM – 7:00 PM.
