The Allegany County Commissioners approved emergency funds to assist small businesses in Allegany County, MD. To apply, please follow this link.

The Paycheck Protection Program is a loan designed to provide a direct incentive for small businesses to keep their workers on the payroll. SBA will forgive loans if all employees are kept on the payroll for eight weeks and the money is used for payroll, rent, mortgage interest, or utilities.The Paycheck Protection Program will be available from April 3, 2020 through June 30, 2020. Governor Hogan has signed an executive “stay-at-home” order on March 30. All those living in Maryland are ordered to stay in their homes or places of residences, except to participate in essential activities. See the Governor’s announcement HERE. For more information on essential vs. nonessential businesses, please review the interpretive guidance provided here. The Governor also announced new funding assistance programs for Maryland Small Businesses to help in weathering the closures, and we are researching additional opportunities as they arise.
 
The Small Business Development Center has provided guidance regarding SBA Disaster Loans. Please review the Maryland SBDC – COVID19 Emergency Relief Funds Webinar and the Small Business Survival Guide for tips on weathering the current crisis.

There are several Maryland funding opportunities available right now to assist with the financial burden this places on our small businesses.
