Applications for 2023 Banners are now open!

Frostburg First, with support from the City of Frostburg, and Frostburg Serves, is pleased to announce the second year of the Frostburg Honors Banner Project. The goal is to recognize the community’s service members in the United States Armed Forces, past and present, by displaying banners in the Frostburg Main Street District.

Banners will be installed throughout downtown Frostburg for Memorial Day 2023 and will be removed after Veterans’ Day 2023. Once banners are removed, they will be made available to the purchasers to take home.

Frostburg Honors are only accepting NEW banner purchases at this time. If enough space is available, another application will be made available for previously printed banners to be re-hung.

If you plan to have a business or organization sponsor your banner, please contact them directly and make arrangements. FrostburgFirst will only be handling the organization, printing, installation, and maintenance of banners. We do not have existing sponsorships available.

The Frostburg Honoree should be a current or previous member of the United States Armed Forces (with an honorable discharge if no longer serving), a resident of Frostburg, or an immediate family member of a current Frostburg resident.

FrostburgFirst reserves the right to accept applications for Service Members with other types of connections to the City at its discretion.  Applications are chosen on a first-come, first-served basis with a maximum of 70 banners available. Banners are only available through purchase – there are no other means of banner selection.

The cost for each banner is $150. The cost covers the production, hardware, installation, and removal of the banners. Any remaining proceeds will be split between FrostburgFirst and set aside for a fund to benefit veterans and service members. Local businesses can participate by sponsoring a banner with the company name and/or logo printed on the number of banners sponsored. For those interested in purchasing multiple banners, rates are slightly discounted for up to 5 banners.

For more information, please contact Frostburg First at frostburghonors@gmail.com or 301-689-6900. Be sure to follow FrostburgFirst on Facebook and the Frostburg Serves Facebook Group for updates on the program.

The project was brought to FrostburgFirst by local residents Kim Raley and Melissa Wilt. Kim and Melissa are proud mothers to members of the armed forces.
