Small Business Saturday is right around the corner! November 24th is an all-day event in Downtown Frostburg to come out and shop small! Shopping small is an awesome way to help out the local Frostburg community, not only by being a patron of local businesses but by supporting the local economy! According to the Small Business Administration, the 28 million small businesses in America account for 54% of all sales in the U.S. Plus, small businesses have provided 55% of all jobs and 66% of all new jobs since the 1970s. When you make a purchase at a small business, you are doing your part to stimulate the local economy. Shopping small also helps your tax dollars stay local: 48% of purchases at local independent business go right back into the community. With purchases made at small businesses, your tax dollars stay local and go back into public services. Shopping small also creates a relationship between the community and the businesses. When you shop small more than 50% of the money spent stays in the area.
