Frostburg is a city of great minds, ambition, and hard working people. We strive every day to provide for our children, build and improve our infrastructure, and are more than happy to welcome visitors to our community.
We are blessed with four seasons of weather, clean streets and sidewalks, and a general caring for our neighbors and friends.
But the best kept secret, shhh, don’t tell, is we are the home of Frostburg State University, the terminus of the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad, and finally, a major stopping point on the Great Allegheny Passage.
For a full service community, we are priced very moderate compared to central Maryland. Housing is affordable, and we offer tax-incentives for new construction. Being able to provide our tax-payers the best service for their dollar is a Frostburg tradition.
Having been in business for 26 years, I am now on my second generation of loyal customers. This is a “first name” kind of community where no one is a stranger for long. – Fred Powell, owner, Main Street Books
“I love being a member of the downtown Frostburg community. I was instantly and warmly welcomed with flowers and cookies from other local businesses, and have been made to feel a part of our perfect little town since the moment I opened. On top of the wonderful people I have the fortune of working next to, there are phenomenal organized events that bring the community into our shops and businesses. I cannot say enough about how happy I am to be here!” – Jennie Clark, Frostburg Fiber Depot
