As the temperatures continue to rise, we here at FrostburgFirst want to make sure everyone stays chilly. After all, it’s just cooler here! We’ve created a couple of opportunities for residents of our small but fun mountain town to achieve this. Firstly, we’re hosting a lemonade stroll through Downtown Frostburg this upcoming Saturday (7/22) for people of all ages to enjoy! Come discover delicious variations on the classic summer drink we know and love. Not to mention, there will be certain sales at local participating businesses as well. Secondly, since we’re such a fun town to visit during Christmas time, we thought why not celebrate Christmas in July! Be on the lookout for Jack Frost as you venture through our lemonade wonderland!

We can hear you asking: how many variations of lemonade could there be?! I’ll let the offerings of local businesses speak for themselves. Stop by Mountain City Traditional Arts to get some freshly squeezed dandelion lemonade, made with dandelion honey that was harvested locally. The Nettle Patch is offering a refreshing lavender lemonade to go with their various other lavender treats. Visit Clatter if the idea of a sparkling ginger lemonade sounds good to you, as it will be a featured menu item, and check out Mountain City Coffeehouse & Creamery for their featured items: raspberry lemonade, peach lemonade, and elderflower lemonade!.

Runners’ Wings will be serving Coco5 Limon Hydration Drinks, to keep everyone’s electrolytes replenished. Our very own Ladybug Boutique will be serving scrumptious old-fashioned lemonade sticks. Got Toys? is offering ecto-lemonade (lemonade with some extra tang) inspired by Ghostbuster’s beloved Slimer, of course!.

If you like some knitting to go with your lemonade, stop by the Frostburg Fiber Depot to enjoy a lemonade spritz. At the Gladstone Beanery within Hotel Gunter, they will have blueberry boba pink lemonade as their featured drink. Make sure to visit Wholesome Harvest as well, because they will have some green goddess lemonade made with local basil, mint, and lemon balm (and recipe cards to go with it). For the lemonade purists, they will also have half gallon bottles of South Mountain Creamery lemonade. Head on over to Tracks & Yaks for the Woodcock Hollow express tour (which leaves at 1pm) that will take you to enjoy a handcrafted Western Maryland lemonade classic before heading back to the depot. YellowK Records is sharing a berry melody lemonade, and last but not least, let those at the Gladstone Mercantile offer you a sample of a Meyer Lemon Drop. Also, visit Baker Babes to enjoy their featured items: lemon flavored cookies and blondies!

If you get more hyped for sales than for lemonade, check out what some of those same businesses as well as others are offering! Get your furry friends a red velvet “pupcake” at Pet Wants Mountain Maryland, who are also offering 10% off all treats with fruit! Old Forty Trading Co will be having a sale of 20% off apparel. The Ladybug Boutique is also offering a 50% sidewalk sale! Got Toys? is offering 10% off your total purchase at the store. If you are looking into taking up knitting, Frostburg Fiber Depot is offering 20% all intro classes. Gladstone Mercantile is encouraging a bit of shopping around so take advantage of their sale offering $5 off every $40 spent.

If you’re looking for a way to cool off physically and mentally this Saturday, look no further than all the fun drinks and sales businesses are offering! You would have to be a scrooge not to come out and enjoy! And don’t forget to say hello and take some pictures with Jack Frost while you are out and about, he’s on summer vacation here in Frostburg and is excited to see his friends! And don’t miss out on the special performance from Mountain City Center for the Arts, who will be LIVE at St. Michael’s Courtyard from 1-2pm helping us celebrate Christmas in July!
