Summer is slowly coming to an end. Throughout the summer we have learned to cook with the You Can Cook! Community Learning Series, enjoyed annual traditions, and tried something new with our First Friday events. We want to reflect on our fun summer and look ahead at some more exciting events…

June

June was a great month! We kicked it off with our Sun & Seeds First Friday event. We also enjoyed our Lemonade Stroll which featured unique lemonade flavors and lemonade-themed baked goods and treats. It was a refreshing way to beat the heat and savor some summertime sweetness!

July

July brought the heat and some great events! We enjoyed celebrating the Fourth of July by watching the 47th Annual Derby Day race right here on Main Street. We had a great time at our Stars & Stripes First Friday shopping at all of our favorite local shops. Pirates Ahoy, annually hosted the Children’s Literature Center at FSU, was a blast and we loved seeing everyone have a great time!

August

August started with our Flower Foray First Friday event. It was a great time and we loved seeing everyone make their beautiful bouquets! This “build-your-own-bouquet” tour was hosted in collaboration with local businesses and farmers who invite the region to visit Frostburg to enjoy a family-friendly day and night. The vibrant colors and fragrant blooms added a delightful touch to the summer’s end.

   Upcoming

Even though summer will soon be over we always have fun events for everyone to look forward to. In September, you can enjoy the Moonlit Music First Friday event AND Fall in Love with Frostburg on September 28th while enjoying our Cider Crawl. October will bring in the fall chill and the Spooky Soiree First Friday & Artist Investor Showcase event!

We would like to thank everyone for attending our events and continuing to support small businesses in Frostburg. Your enthusiasm and participation make all the difference. Keep an eye out for more events on our events calendar and remember, it’s just cooler here!
