We here at FrostburgFirst have to get something off our chest… our treasure chest! That’s right folks, it’s time for another event in our 2nd Saturday series. This Saturday from 9am to 1pm, come enjoy Pirates Ahoy! Thanks to our generous hosts at the Children’s Literature Centre, it’s free to attend, and there are a plethora of things for kids and their parents to experience.
You can find the full schedule and more information on the Children’s Literature Centre facebook page, but here’s a little sneak peek of what to expect. At 9am, everyone participating should meet at City Place (14 S. Water St.). Make sure you have your costumes and pirate ships ready, because there will be contests galore.
Scan the QR code featured at the bottom of this post, to get more information on required materials and dimensions. From there, get ready for crafts, a downtown treasure hunt, and an illustrator presentation. We have the honor of witnessing Lee Harper, illustrator of Turkey’s Sandtastic Beach Day, give a talk about his book! But the fun doesn’t stop there, after all activities are said and done, stop by the Frostburg Freeze for a cool and refreshing after party.
Now for the parents, don’t be afraid to take the sea-nic route around, stop by your favorite local businesses and take advantage of their sweet deals! If you’re in need of some new and trendy pieces for your wardrobe, Madison Paige Boutique is offering 50% off the sale rack, and hosting a “Sip and Shop” event in store begging at 11am.
