The Frostburg State University Center for Literary Arts, 22 East Main St, will be hosting the Indie Lit Festival on October 5th at 5:30 and 6th at 11:00 to 5:00.
The Frostburg State University Center for Literary Arts, in partnership with the Allegany County Library System, is excited to announce that the eleventh annual Western Maryland Indie Lit Festival is scheduled for Oct. 5 & 6 on Main Street in Frostburg. The event brings together editors and publishers with writers and educators of the local community. Panel discussions and roundtable sessions include topics on various creative genres, revolutionary mothering, writing and the first amendment, writing about spirituality, telling the story through podcasting, and more!

Friday, October 5:
- Indie Lit Kickoff Reception begns at 5:30 at the Center for Literary Arts (22 E. Main Street). Meet and greet writers, editors, and other Indie Lit participants over snacks and refreshments.
- Inde Lit Kickoff Reading at Main Street Books (2 E. Main Street). Reading begins at 6:30 PM.
- Indie Lit Kickoff Panel Discussion at the Frostburg Public Library (65 E. Main Street). Featured authors/editors from the Kickoff Reading sit on a panel and discuss the author/editor/publisher relationship.
Saturday, October 6:
Join us for a full day (11:00-5:00) of panels, roundtables,readings, and a book fair at locations on Main Street and Broadway in Frostburg, Maryland. Registration begins in the Center for Literary Arts at 10:30.
Please note that a book fair will be held in the Lyric Theatre, 20 E. Main St.
All events are free of charge.
The public is welcomed and encouraged to attend all of these events.
