Welcome to 2nd Saturdays! Come downtown to check out all the beauty of early summer: new public art installations, outdoor dining, and the best weather in Mountain Maryland! Visit one of Frostburg’s parks or pool, the GAP Trailhead, or Dan’s Rock for selfies on your way to Main Street where you can shop local and support small businesses by tagging #Frostburg2ndSaturdays on your social media posts! Like their social media pages and leave a review for a chance to win Bug Bucks!
July 8th // Pirates Ahoy!:
This annual event supported by The Children’s Literature Center has moved to a Saturday! From 9 AM – 1 PM expect to see traveling troupes of young pirates around Main Street! This beloved event celebrates reading and Children’s Literature, with special crafts, scavenger hunts to local businesses, and a pirate pit-stop with games and activities – AND as always, the best after-party hosted at the Frostburg Freeze! July 22nd // Annual Lemonade Stroll and “Christmas in July”:
We all know that winter in Frostburg is extra special with the magic of Storybook Holiday, the Cocoa Crawl, and last year’s televised special on Up TV”s “Small Town Christmas”. But summer is also an AMAZING time to visit – it’s always just cooler here anyway! Local businesses will host the annual Lemonade Stroll, and visitors can expect to see our friend Jack Frost around town enjoying his vacation!
August 12th // PigOut Picnic Preview:
PigOut in the Park, our annual BBQ fundraiser, is the following Saturday, so we’re going to be celebrating for a whole week! Come downtown on 2nd Saturday to find deals at local stores and restaurants and enter to win a family pack of tickets to this year’s event!
September 9th // Wellness Weekend:
The end of summer means Frostburg is heading back to school! We’ll be connecting with local businesses to focus on health and wellness events for the entire whole family! (Yes, even the four-legged ones!) The Frostburg Pool will host the annual Dog Splash and visitors can expect to find end-of-the-season specials and deals from stores and restaurants.
