Homecoming season is upon us! This week, October 3rd – 6th, downtown Frostburg and Frostburg State University campus will be flooded with alumni, both local and long-distance. Homecoming is the perfect reason to return to Frostburg and reconnect with the campus, city, and friends both old and new. This year, FSU is hosting 24 events from Thursday through Sunday, including fun activities including writing your name on the FSU letters, voting for Homecoming King and Queen, and tie-dying t-shirts.
The week is full of awesome events that you aren’t going to want to miss! On Thursday, October 3rd, the school is hosting a luncheon for retired employees. Friday includes the Bobcat Hall of Fame Induction and Dinner, as well as a volleyball match. Saturday is jam-packed with a football game, the Bobcat Statue dedication, and Bobcat Bash. On Sunday, attendees can catch the Men’s Basketball Alumni Game.
This year, Bobcat pride is at its peak with FSU’s first Homecoming as a Division Two school! FSU joined Division Two for the first time, ending a 41-year Division Three membership. Frostburg State University and Bowie State are the only
two schools in Maryland that are Division Two, so it will be interesting to see how the homecoming game between Frostburg State University and Urbana University will play out.
No matter how you feel about football, Homecoming here at Frostburg State University is exactly what the name implies: coming home. Former and current students gather, celebrate, and reminisce about the time spent in beautiful Frostburg with friends made along the way.
