Four Things to Add to Your To-Do List.

Fall is the season of calm and steady, a season to catch your breath, keep cozy and relax. With the previous season, summer being fun with endless activities, Fall brings you back to reset and paces you down to a much slower rhythm of life.

What I love most about fall is waking up to a cold morning, dressing in cozy sweaters and outfits, the smell of pumpkin spice, the sound of crunching of leaves and decorations everywhere. It is almost nostalgic and missed by most, but not to worry! Fall becomes official this Thursday, September 22nd although most people consider fall to begin on the first day of October.

There are lots to do and try, whether it’s in your home or in town. Here are four activities I will be checking off my Fall bucket list as a student in Frostburg that you can try also!

Fall Decor

Fall decor is anything in relation to the season. The colors orange, brown and yellow set the tone for a nice fall decor. A beautiful colored wreath on the door or a Fall welcome mat would be a great touch for a minimalist. Pumpkins are the popular decoration associated with fall and those are always a good and safe option as well as seasonal plants. (Consider getting fake decor to save you money and ensure a long lasting decor for the season)

4th Annual Fall Arts Walk

Organized by FrostburgFirst, on Saturday, October 1, from 11am-5-pm. Located throughout downtown Frostburg, this event plans to bring you musical performances, business specials, artists and creators showing off their talents and much more! Take the chance to visit the local businesses and meet its owners.

Make Delicious Treats

Yes! Treats. It is the perfect get together event for families, couples, and friends. There is nothing more perfect and delicious than baking, cooking or creating different treats or cravings. Try incorporating fall flavors such as cinnamon, apple, pumpkin spice, maple and much more. Here is a link to view different recipes to try this fall: Link to Recipes.

Visit Frostburg Farmers Market

Frostburg holds a farmers market every Friday at City Place from 9:30am to 1pm. The food you buy at farmers markets are fresh and locally grown foods. It also means you get seasonal foods, all while supporting local farmers. It is as real as it gets and of course a healthy choice. You have the chance of knowing where your food comes from and it also gives you a chance to meet and connect with the people of the community. Going to a farmers market in itself is a fun activity and it makes shopping pleasurable rather than a chore to check off your to-do list.

Fall is one of the best seasons as it offers so many activities and festivities to try, including Halloween and Thanksgiving. It is very enjoyable because of the joy, food, fashion and colors that comes with it. Be sure to try any, if not all of the activities listed above for a spectacular Fall season this year.
