When Frostburg is mentioned, most people associate our town with chilly winter months, but what they don’t know is how beautiful and vibrant it is in the summertime! We’re closer to the sun, which means we’re closer to the fun, and you can be too! Take advantage of the warmer weather this season, and enjoy all that our mountain town has to offer. The summer sales of this weekend are part of our 2nd Saturday series, where we offer Frostburg residents the chance to support local businesses, and have fun while they’re at it!

Summertime Fun in Frostburg

There is the Frostburg Pool of course, which should be everyone’s favorite century-old swimming hole. Bring the kids and their floaties of all shapes and sizes! Their hours are usually 12 PM to 7 PM from Monday through Thursday, and 12 PM to 6 PM from Friday to Sunday. But make sure to check their Facebook page for updated hours or closures. There are also several parks to visit, including Hoffman Park, which just opened its brand-new disc golf course! Make sure to check their Facebook page as well for updates and registration info. If you’re just looking for a long trail with great views, head on down to the GAP Trail, and brush up on your history of the Great Allegheny Passage, while getting a workout in!

Family Friendly Downtown

What’s better than taking the family down Main Street on a sunny day to do some window shopping? As you stroll, look out for Mountain City Traditional Arts, they are holding Summer Children’s Music Series from June through August. Check their Facebook page for more details, and catch their artist line up; including groups like Snowday and Hominy Mamas! There is also a Frostburg Summer Day Camp Program open for kids ages 5-12! We have options for those that need a break from the outside world as well. The Palace Theatre is hosting a summer movie series that is part of their effort to raise money for their roof replacement. Frostburg residents have the chance to see classics like The Graduate in June, Strangers on a Train in July, and From Here to Eternity in August. Hosted by the Children’s Literature Centre, on Saturday, July 8th, kids and parents alike can come enjoy a day of pirate-themed fun! Outdoor Dining in Frostburg

Enjoy the weather and the good food our town has to offer at the same time! There are plenty of eateries with outdoor dining options in Frostburg. Visit the Toasted Goat’s Biergarten where there is live music to accompany delicious meals. Perry Kamp will be at the Biergarten on June 9th! If you have a taste for Italian cuisine, check out the outdoor patio set up at Giuseppe’s Italian Restaurant, and enjoy some al fresco dining. For those beautiful summer mornings, grab a coffee at Mountain City Coffeehouse & Creamery, and sit outside to watch the hustle and bustle of Main Street. Don’t forget to dive into the live music, great drinks, and welcoming atmosphere of The Deep End! Take a trip back in time at the Sand Springs Saloon, and enjoy a taste of the wild old west! Last but not least, feel your toes in the sand at the Beach Club, and drink delicious cocktails of the tropics!
